CBF released this morning the VAR audio in Flamengo’s 3-2 victory against Santos, yesterday in Maracanã, for the Brazilian championship. Peixe left the field complaining a lot about referee André Luiz de Freitas Castro, who did not give an alleged penalty from Matheuzinho to Camacho, in the 48th minute of the first half, when the score was at 0 to 0 — following the blow, Pedro opened the scoring for the red-black.
“The foot stops on the side and he trips on his foot”, explains Adriano Milczvski, the VAR of the match.
In the audio, it is possible to hear a conversation between Adriano and Luciano Roggenbaum, VAR assistant, and they conclude that there was “no impact” for the penalty.
Check out the dialog:
Adrian Milczvski: “The leg is already immobile. The foot stops on the side and it trips on the foot. It doesn’t quite hit it, does it?”
Luciano Roggenbaum: “Is this contact without impact, Adriano?”
Adriano Milczvski: ‘No impact at all’
Luciano Roggenbaum: “Perfect”
Luciano Roggenbaum: “It’s true. A camera. Look at that impact, Adriano”
Adriano Milczvski: “I don’t see any impact here. The leg is already immobile. There is contact there. It comes back a bit. This knee with the knee there”
Luciano Roggenbaum: “And André is also at the top of the game, you can see that. Watch André watch the game well”
Adrian Milczvski: “The leg is already there. Turning in that direction, it will hit the defender. For me, normal throwing”
Arbitrators are dismissed by the CBF
The CBF announced this morning that it has suspended the referees involved. With this decision, André Luiz Freitas Castro (field referee) and Adriano Milczvski (VAR) were placed in the entity’s “Referee Performance Assistance Program (PADA)” – a kind of “refrigerator”.
