Fuel price hike again
First, it is important to remember that it is not possible to talk about gasoline without mentioning general prices.
That is, there was a further increase in fuel prices which therefore also affected the fuel most used by Brazilians.
According to InfoMoney, the average price of S10 diesel at the pump increased at the end of last week. Experts say this is the first increase in 16 weeks.
The data comes from a survey that takes place every week. The person responsible for information is the National Agency for Petroleum, Biofuels and Natural Gas (ANP).
Namely, the S10 diesel was 1.05% more expensive: it went from R$6.65 to R$6.72.

Another piece of information that attracted Brazilians concerns the gasoline increase Again. According to the data, this is the second week in a row with an increase in this area.
O gasoline price C with an increase of 0.41%, it went from R$ 4.86 to R$4.88. In other words, according to data from the ANP, the price of a liter of regular gasoline has increased by 1.8% at service stations over the past two weeks.
The Agency’s figures lately have shown a scenario of price stability. That is, there have been a few consecutive weeks with falling values. According to experts, this happened due to the reduction in the value of sale to refineries by Petrobras, as well as the limitation of ICMS in the states.
Why has gasoline gone up again?
It is important to remember that there are different factors that explain the new gasoline increase in the last few weeks.
The first of these is that oil has become more expensive outside the country. When this happens, it is normal for the price to affect the country because it is necessary to maintain a competitive price.
What experts say, however, is that Petrobras is currently under pressure to keep fuel prices frozen until the end of the second round of elections. The intention is not to harm the campaign of the current president.
Finally, experts say there is a “burnout” of this effort to bring down consumer prices. Even the drop in the ICMS in June and the drop in Petrobras prices do not support the return of bulls in the international market.
That is to say that in the weeks to come, the gasoline price forecast is for more increases – taking into account the rest of the world. The fear of those who follow, however, is that the country will suffer from much larger increases due to this “forced compression” in prices today.
