O Botafogo came back to affirm the terrain factor, prevailed and, even by waging a useless struggle, won the Red Bull Bragantino 2-1 Wednesday night (26), at Nilton Santos Stadium. The result brought Glorioso to the G-8 of Brazil Championship, four games from the end, with 47 points, but the good opponents are still playing the trick (see ranking at the end of the text). Now it’s dry!

With an attacking formation, Botafogo started the game above Red Bull Bragantino and had a great first half. However, the ball was slow to enter. In the 13th minute, Júnior Santos takes advantage of a live ball in the middle and catches it first, the deflected kick on Luan Cândido and Cleiton makes a good save. Then Tiquinho Soares was kicked in by Gabriel Pires, but Cleiton managed to get ahead of himself.

Glorioso managed to score in the 17th minute, after a string of chances. Marçal takes a corner, Victor Cuesta header and Cleiton saves from the corner. Then Marçal crossed low and Tiquinho Soares, with his heel, hit the post. Then alvinegro’s shirt 9 was knocked down by the keeper on the rebound and Gabriel Pires took the rest to finally take the zero out of the score.

With the advantage in scoring and superior on the pitch, Botafogo continued to dominate, but ended up wasting good chances to better frame counterattacks to widen the scoreline and, as they say in football lingo, “kill the game”. So he ended up having a bit of unnecessary choking late in the first half, but managed to go on the break in front.

The game remained dangerous in the second half, with Red Bull Bragantino managing to have more possession and produce more. And then there was the tie. In the 17th minute, after a ball crossed from the right, Adryelson made a mistake, returned from the head and Luan Cândido, free, dominated and kicked across to leave everything tied at 1 against 1.

Then Botafogo had to row again. Jeffinho almost put the Fogão back in front, but Cleiton struck in the left corner. Then, in the 25th minute, the net tipped over. Patrick de Paula, who had just entered, launched Júnior Santos on the right, the attacker played in the box, the ball deflected in defense and left clean for Tchê Tchê to make it 2 to 1 for Glorioso.

After the goal, Botafogo tried to cool down the game and managed to hold the advantage until the final whistle, getting this shout from the crowd after two straight defeats at Nilton Santos.
